Sanjivani Vati is an Ayurvedic formulation used for the treatment of cough and fever. It is a polyherbal preparation of ten ingredients: Vidanga, Sunthi, Pippali, Haritaki, Vibitaki, Amalaki, Vacha, Guduchi, Shudha Bhallataka, and Shudha Vatsnabha. These ingredients are mixed in equal quantities with Gomutra. In addition to cold and fever, Sanjivani Vati helps treat disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, and inflammatory joint disorders. Along with that, it also helps strengthen and rejuvenate the immune system. According to Ayurveda, Sanjivani Vati has Javarghana (antipyretic) property which helps control fever. It also has Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties which aid in improving digestion, controlling symptoms of indigestion and diarrhea. These properties may also aid in providing relief from the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis-like joint pain and swelling. Sanjivani Vati also has a Kapha balancing property which helps control cough, release mucus, clear air passages, thus aiding the patient to breathe freely. You can take 1-2 tablets of Sanjivani Vati or as directed by the physician to manage fever. Take it once or twice a day, preferably after meals with lukewarm water or fresh ginger juice. Avoid self-medication or taking Sanjivani Vati in excess.

Sanjivani Vati is generally well tolerated and does not have any side effects when taken in the recommended dose. However, it is advisable to consult the doctor before using it.
