Dhania or Coriander is an evergreen herb with a characteristic aroma. Dried seeds of this plant are generally used for medicinal purposes. The taste of Dhania can be bitter or sweet depending on the freshness of the seeds. Dhania is packed with nutrients and various antioxidants that protect the body against certain diseases.
Drinking Dhania water or Coriander seeds soaked in water in the morning is beneficial for thyroid due to its high mineral and vitamin content. Dhania (coriander) leaves are light to digest and help improve digestion which helps reduce flatulence, diarrhea, bowel spasm due to its anti-diarrheal and carminative properties. It is recommended to add Dhania to your regular diet to prevent a number of gastric problems. It also reduces muscle spasms as well as the frequency and severity of abdominal pain due to its antispasmodic property. Dhania also helps in the removal of kidney stones by increasing the production of urine due to its diuretic property.
Dhania juice or Dhania powder and rose water can be mixed to form a paste which can be applied on the face to help control acne, pimples and blackheads due to its antibacterial and astringent properties.
It is advisable to use Dhania in small amounts as large amounts may cause skin irritation and inflammation.
